He played in his first golf tournament at the age of 5. A multi-sport athlete in
high school, Parker was captain of his golf team, were he went to state multiple years,
won the State Championship in both football and basketball his junior year, and as a senior was
selected to all-state teams in both football and basketball.
As a collegiate athlete, he chose to pursue basketball at Central Washington University where he later became an assistant men’s basketball coach.
Although his college experience was greatly influenced by his basketball
career, he has always had a passion for golf. In fact, his first job after college
was building Bear Mountain Golf Course with his father and designer Don
Barth.
In 2007, his father called and asked if he would like to take over the family golf course, and Parker jumped at the opportunity. He immediately passed his player’s ability test and began the PGA program.
Now a father of three young boys, Parker loves to teach and mentor those that are interested in learning the game. Having enjoyed playing many sports in his youth, Parker has incorporated this mindset to the game of golf. He currently teaches group lessons, individual lessons, Women, Men, and Junior’s at Alta Lake Golf Course and Bear Mountain Golf Course.
